Summer bag

In July we are flying to Greece and I needed a funky bag for our trips to the beach. I decided to go all out and do some watermelon patterns on the fabric. It was super quick and simple project. The result was amazing, so i thought of sharing it with you. This is my first DIY tutorial video, let me know how much you like it.

Τον Ιούλιο πάμε για διακοπές στην Ελλάδα και χρειαζόμουν την τέλεια τσάντα για τις επιδρομές μας στην παραλία. Τι καλύτερο από το να φτιάξω μία υφασμάτινη τσάντα με σχέδια καρπουζιού. Η διαδικασία ήταν πολύ εύκολη κι έτσι αποφάσησα να μοιραστώ την ιδέα μαζί σας. Αυτό είναι το πρώτο βίντεο μου για χειροτεχνίες, ελπίζω να σας αρέσει.

Materials:

Cotton fabric tote bag
fabric paints
potato stamp
paint brush
toothpick


- Put a newspaper inside the bag. You don't want to paint to go through and color the other side. You also prevent getting your table dirty.
- Cut the potato in a half-moon shape. Apply red color and stamp the fabric with it.
- With a thin brush paint the green line for the peel of the watermelon.
- Use a toothpick to add the black seeds.
- Let it dry. After ~30mins check that the newspaper is not stuck to the painted side of the fabric.
- In 1-2 hours remove the newspaper. Let the bag dry overnight.
- Iron it in high temperature (the setting of 3 dots on your iron) or according to the fabric's instructions.

- Τοποθετήστε μία εφημερίδα μέσα στη τσάντα. Δε θέλουμε η μπογιά να βάψει την άλλη πλευρά της τσάντας. Έτσι προστατεύετε και το τραπέζι σας.

- Κόψτε τη πατάτε σε μισοφέγγαρο σχήμα. βάλτε κόκινη μπογιά και ταμπονάρετε το ύφασμα.

- Με το πινέλο ζωγραφίστε την πράσινη γραμμή. Αυτή θα είναι η φλούδα του καρπουζιού.

- Με την οδοντογλυφίδα προσθέστε τα κουκούτσια.

- Αφήστε το ύφασμα να στεγνώσει. 30 λεπτά αργότερα προσέξτε να μην έχει κολλήσει η εφημερίδα στο ύφασμα.

- Σε 1-2 ώρες μπορείτε να αφαιρέσετε την εφημερίδα. Αφήστε τη τσάντα να στεγνωσει όλη νύχτα.

- Σιδερώστε το ύφασμα σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες που σας δίνονται. (το βαμβάκι αντέχει υψηλή θερμοκρασία)

Craft party

Finland Handcrafters Team organized an Etsy craft party on 6th of June . Our host was the cute shop MadeBy Helsinki right in the heart of the city .

On a sunny Friday we all met at the crafting corner inside the store and got crafty , we taught each other new skills and had lots of fun chit chatting . When it started raining, we enjoyed nice coffee and hot choco and kept on crafting !
We all had a good time crafting together and we have decided to host more craft parties in Helsinki.

1st anniversary & SALES

Last year on 23.3 I took the big decision to open my Etsy shop.
I had already spent several months studying and preparing for the big opening. I had only prepared few designs and listed just a handful of items.

This Sunday it's my shop's 1 year anniversary and I am glad to say I have learned a lot.
I have improved my product photography. My pictures are better and brighter. I learned how to use a bunch of social media and can even say I am addicted to some of them.
I used new materials and experimented with different techniques. I have now a larger variety of treasures available in my shop...and I'm preparing even more designs.

Earrings - Σκουλαρίκια

Πέρσυ στις 23 Μαρτίου πήρα την μεγάλη απόφαση να ανοίξω το Etsy μαγαζί μου. Μήνες πριν είχα ξεκινήσειτο διάβασμα και τις προετοιμασίες για τα εγκαίνια. Προετοίμασα λίγα αντικείμενα και ανέβαζα μία χούφτα κοσμήματα προς πωληση.

Αυτή την Κυριακή είναι τα πρώτα γεννέθλια του μαγαζιού και με σιγουριά μπορώ να σας πω ότι έχω μάθει πολλά πλέον.
Βελτίωσα τις φωτογραφίες μου, πλέον είναι πιο καθαρές και φωτεινές. Έμαθα να χρησιμοποιώ πολλούς τόπους κοινονικής δικτύωσης και τους χρησιμοποιώ καθημερινά.
Κάθε τόσο δοκιμάζω νέα υλικά και πειραματίζομαι με διάφορες τεχνικές. Σε 

Necklaces - Κολιέ

I have met crafters from Greece and Finland. Great artists and creators of magnificent items!! Those new friends several times have given me advice and inspiration to continue and take my shop one step forward.

Γνώρισα δημιουργούς από την Ελλάδα και τη ΦΙνλανδία. Ταλαντούχους καλλιτέχνες και δημιουργούς υπέροχων αντικειμένων. Πολλές φορές με έχουν συμβουλέψει και εμπνεύσει να εξελίξω το μαγαζί μου.

Kite earrings 

I received several custom orders that helped me improve my craftiness!

- Lynn challenged me to crate a different version of my kite earring. I went to bed at 3am that night, but I didn't mind. The earrings arrived on time to her doorstep and she loved it!
- Saara wanted a grey fluffy scarf, but I failed miserably on my first try knitting it. The yard was ruined so I gave it to my cat to play and he was more than happy. My second attempt to knit the fluffy scarf was a success. Errieta wanted the same scarf, she calls it "sheep scarf"

Οι ειδικές πραγγελίες με ώθησαν να εξελίξω τις ικανότητές μου!

- Η Lynn ζήτησε μία διαφορετική εκδοχή των χαρταετών μου. Εκείνη τη νυχτα κοιμήθηκα στις 3πμ, αλλά δε με πειράζει. Τα σκουλαρίκια έφτασαν γρήγορα στο κατώφλι της και τα λάτρεψε!
- Η Saara θέλησε ένα γκρι χνουδωτό κασκόλ, αλλά στη πρώτη μου προσπάθεια απέτυχα. Το μαλλί ήταν πλέον μπλεγμένο και άχρηστο. Το έδωσα στον γάτο μας να παίζει κι ήταν τρισευτυχισμένος. Στη δεύτερη προσπάθεια τα κατάφερα και το κασκόλ έκαψε καρδιές. Η Εριέττα θέλησε το ίδιο κασκόλ, το αποκαλεί "κασκόλ-πρόβατο"

Globe rings

I am in love with my new globe rings. Every time I make a new color I want to keep it for myshelf. But I know that this is shelfish, so I will always share them with you instead.

Είμαι τρελά ερωτευμένη με τη νέα σειρά δαχτυλίδιων που πρόσθεσα στο μαγαζί. 
Θέλω να φορέσω κάθε νέο χρώμα και σχέδιο που φτιάχνω. Αλλά δε θέλω να ζηλεύετε, οπότε θα μοιράζομαι κάθε νέα δημιουργία μου μαζί σας!!

The glass contains a special liquid I make. I am following an old fashion recipe for it and do not use chemical ingredients found in hobby stores. Every time I make a new ring I feel like I'm cooking a special recipe. I have to always be careful to put the right amount of each ingredient and glitter.

Το γυαλινο δοχείο του δαχτυλιδιού περιέχει ένα υγρό που δημιούργώ μόνη μου. Βρήκα μία παλιά συνταγή για χιονόμπαλα την οποία τροποποίησα για να επιτυχω το ιδανικό αποτέλεσμα. Κάθε φορά που φτιάχνω ένα νέο δαχτυλίδι νιώθω λες και μαγειρεύω μία μυστική συνταγή. Πρέπει να προσέχω πολύ στις αναλογίες κάθε συστατικού.

They need to stay still for 12 hours

I have played with different colors of glitter and created a whole rainbow. Each ring has a tiny detail hidden in the glitter. The blue rings has small blue-purple flowers, while the green one has tiny leafs and the red one has cute hearts. The glass dome is magnifying those tiny details emphasizing them when the glitter settles down at the bottom of the globe.

Miniatures add more cuteness 

Πειραματίζομαι και παίζω με διαφορετικά χρώματα χρυσόσκονης κι έχω ήδη δημιουργήσει ένα ουράνιο τόξο δαχτυλιδιών. Κάθε δαχτυλίδι κρύβει μία μικροσκοπική λεπτομέρια. Το μπλε έχει μικρά μπλε λουλουδάκια, ενώ το πράσινο μικροσκοπικά φύλλα και το κόκκινο καρδούλες. Αυτές οι μινιατούρες είναι φτιαγμένες από πολυμερικό πηλό. Η γυάλα μεγενθύνει αυτές τις λεπτομέριες όσο το η χρυσόσκονη αργά κινείται προς τον πάτο.
