We too have felt the same presence in our creative process and with this giveaway we wish to show how it has manifested itself in our work. What can you do with an old pullover and an old chair?

Miracles!!

Τι μπορείς να κάνεις με ένα παλιό, τρύπιο πουλοβεράκι και μία παλιά καρέκλα;

Θαύματα!!

Cut the sleeves and separate the two sides of the pullover, the front and the back. One piece goes for the bottom and the other for the back of the chair. Measure how big the pieces have to be and cut them. Leave few extra centimeters, if it's too much, you can cut it as you go.

Κώψε τα μανίκια και ξεχωρίσε το μπροστά και πίσω μέρος της μπλούζας. Το ένα κομμάτι θα πάει για το κάθισμα και το άλλο για τη πλάτη της καρέκλας. Μετρήσε το μέγεθος που χρειάζεσε και κόψε ανάλογα. Αφήσε λίγα εκατοστά περίσευμα, αν είναι πολύ μεγάλο μπορείς να το κόψεις αργότερα.


With a pair of scissors or a butter knife push the fabric in. Make sure to stretch the fabric well!

Με ένα ψαλίδι ή μαχαίρι βουτύρου σπρώξε το ύφασμα μέσα στην εσοχή που έχει η καρέκλα. Βεβαιώσου ότι το τεντώνεις καλά! 

It's been a year since I "fixed" the chair and it hasn't fallen apart yet. It's a very easy procedure and a good solution to freshen up an old desk chair. Now it fits perfectly in our purple flat!

Έχει περάσει ένας χρόνος από όταν έφτιαξα την καρέκλα κι ακόμη δεν έχει βγει τίποτα εκτώς. Είναι πολύ εύκολη διαδικασία και μία καλή λύση ανανέωσης μίας παλιάς καρέκλας γραφείου. Τώρα ταιριάζει στο μωβ διαμέρισμά μας!

At Palaiochouni for Easter

Palaiochouni is at the red dot

On 4.5 we flew to Greece for a week holiday.
After a 3½ hrs flight we arrived to Athens. From the airport we drove straight to Palaiochouni, a small village in the center of Peloponnese. The house where my dad grew up is at the edge of the village. After the necessary cleaning it was coffee time and catching up with the family.

Στις 4Μάη πετάξαμε στην Ελλάδα για μία βδομάδα διακοπών. Μετά από μία πτήση 3½ ωρών φτάσαμε στην Αθήνα. Από το αεροδρόμιο πήγαιμα κατευθείαν στην Παλαιόχουνη, ένα μικρό χωριό στο κέντρο της Πελοπονήσου. Το πατρικό σπίτι του πατέρα μου βρίσκεται στην άκρη του χωριού. Μετά από το αναγκαίο καθάρισμα ήταν ώρα για καφέ και κουβέντα.

Built on 1888, it's the first house of the village

Every night we could enjoy the wonderful song of nightingale. From early afternoon until late the morning their singing was creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. In the evenings we could also hear the frogs down by the river. The first night we heard jackals, their screams are so creepy to listen in the middle of the night. On the other hand the second night we heard a wild boar and started looking for Obelix.

Flowers for the Easter table

Κάθε βράδυ μπορούσαμε να ακούσουμε το υπέροχο κελάηδημα των αηδονιών. Από νωρίς το απόγευμα μέχρι και αργά το πρωί, το τραγούδι τους δημιουργούσε μία παραμυθέναι ατμόσφαιρα. Τη νύχτα μπορούσαμε να ακούσουμε ακόμη και τα βατράχια στο ποτάμι. Τη πρώτη νύχτα ακούσαμε τσακάλια, οι φωνές τους είναι πολύ τρομαχτικές μέσα στο σκοτάδι της νύχτας. Ακόμη, ακούσαμε κι ένα αγριογούρουνο τη δεύτερη βραδυά και αρχίσαμε να ψάχνουμε τον Οβελίξ. 

Wild asparagus plant

One morning we went for a hike at the mountain to collect wild asparagus. It was the end of their season and we didn't collect many, but we really enjoyed the hike and the beautiful view. We also found a couple of turtles and gave them some greens to eat.

Ένα πρωινό πήγαμε βόλτα στο βουνό για σπαράγγια. Μπορεί να ήταν το τέλος της εποχής των σπαραγγιών και να μη μαζέψαμε αρκετά, όμως απολάυσαμε τη βόλτα και τη θέα. Βρήκαμε δύο χελώνες και τους δώσαμε φλούδες αγγουριού να φάνε. 

This turtle has survived a fire

 On the way back to Athens, we stopped by at Arachamites. We have an uncle who makes great and all natural honey. We were lucky and saw once again the process of extracting the honey from the beehives (orange trees' flowers honey to be exact). We bought lots of honey to bring back to Finland.
In July we will go back in Palaiochouni for the village fair. We can't wait to chill and enjoy some more sunny days and starry nights in the village.

Στην επιστροφή, σταματήσαμε στις Αραχαμίτες. Έχουμε ένα θείο που φτιάχνει υπέροχο και, πάνω από όλα, καθαρό μέλι. Ήμασταν τυχεροί και για ακόμη μία φορά είδαμε τη διαδικασία εξαγωγής του μελιού από τις κυψελες (μέλι πορτοκαλιάς για την ακρίβεια). 
Τον Ιούλιο θα επιστρέψουμε στην Παλιόχουνη για το πανηγύρι του χωριού. Ανυπομονούμε να χαλαρώσουμε και να απολαύσουμε κι άλλες ηλιόλουστες μέρες και έναστρες νύχτες στο χωριό.
